Off grid

An off grid structure is one that is not connected to any utility networks, such as the water, sewer, or electrical grids. Instead, these services are provided onsite, through rainwater harvesting, septic systems, solar energy, or other related technologies. Some locations have laws that prevent off grid structures.[1]

Living off involves making some lifestyle choices such as scheduling some tasks for sunny days when solar energy production is at its peak.
