The electrical grid is an interconnected network for delivering electricity from where it is generated to where it is consumed.

The electrical grid is an interconnected network for delivering electricity from where it is generated to where it is consumed. It is one of several grids some are choosing to avoid to live an off grid lifestyle.

The electrical grid consists of:

  • One or more generating stations that creates electrical power
  • High voltage transmission lines to move the electricity
  • Distribution lines to connect buildings that consume electricity
