Apple juice is made from pressed apples.

Juice is a beverage made from extracting or pressing liquid out of fruits or vegetables. Popular juices are made from apples, oranges, grapes, tomatoes, and carrots. Some juices are preserved using fermentation to create ciders and wines.

The dry remains created from juicing is called pulp. Some pulp can be added back into the juice, as is sometimes desired with orange juice. Some pulp can also be used in baking to add texture and flavor. Pulp can also be added to a compost pile.

Making juice

Small quantities of juice can be made using a handheld citrus reamer or kitchen juicer.

Large quantities of juice can be made in a press. For higher yields, the produce is usually cut or shredded into smaller pieces. Some home brewers who need a lot of juice use a setup using a dedicated electric garbage disposal to quickly masticate the produce.
