Terracotta is often used to make inexpensive garden pots.

Terracotta is a ceramic made from red clay. The material is often used to make inexpensive garden pots to hold plants. If glazed, vessels made from terracotta will hold water, else, if left unglazed, terracotta is porous and will allow water to seep through.

Ollas are a type of long-necked unglazed terracotta vessel burred mostly underground to reduce water waste in a garden.
