A gopher is a common name for any of the species of burrowing rodents in the family Geomyidae. Gophers are herbivores and eat 60 percent of their body weight in vegetation a day, eating roots and fleshy parts of plants and are able to quickly cause damage to gardens and lawns.[1] Using gopher wire correctly in the soil can prevent or minimize damage caused by gophers.
