For plants, a nutrient is one of 18 required elements. They are divided into macronutrients and micronutrients.

Macronutrients

Macronutrients are the nine nutrients that constitute 99.5 percent of a plant's biomass.

Micronutrients

Micronutrients are the nine nutrients that constitute 0.5 percent of a plant's biomass.
