Ketogenic diet
A ketogenic diet, or simply keto, is a dietary intake of very-low carbohydrate and high dietary fat foods. This method of eating can supply all the vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids from protein, essential fatty acids from food, and dietary fiber. It is sometimes paired with intermittent fasting.

Types
There are different ways to maintain a ketogenic diet, with different methods having different names.
Clean keto
Clean keto focuses on eating whole, nutrient-dense foods. This puts a high emphasis on food quality. Clean keto consists mainly of whole foods from quality sources, such as grass-fed beef, free-range eggs, wild-caught seafood, olive oil, and non-starchy vegetables.[1]
Dirty keto
Dirty keto, also called lazy keto, maintains strict carbohydrate limits, but allows for highly processed and packaged foods.[1]
