Types

There are different ways to maintain a ketogenic diet, with different methods having different names.

Clean keto

Clean keto focuses on eating whole, nutrient-dense foods. This puts a high emphasis on food quality. Clean keto consists mainly of whole foods from quality sources, such as grass-fed beef, free-range eggs, wild-caught seafood, olive oil, and non-starchy vegetables.[1]

Dirty keto

Dirty keto, also called lazy keto, maintains strict carbohydrate limits, but allows for highly processed and packaged foods.[1]
