Homestead

The Dervaes family created an urban homestead at their house in the middle of Pasadena, California.

A homestead is a residence where land is cultivated for increased self-sufficiency. A person, or group, that homesteads strives to use what can be produced off the land from growing crops and raising livestock. While some produced items might be sold, like a farm, commercial use is not the primary goal. Homesteads are located in both rural and urban areas.
