A goat (Capra aegagrus) is an animal species originating in Southwest Asia and Eastern Europe, with domesticated goats forming their own subsecies (Capra aegagrus hircus). A male goat is called a buck and a female goat is called a doe. Goats are closely related to the sheep.

Domesticated goats have been bred for better providing meat, milk, or fiber. While all does can produce milk after giving birth, the varieties adapted for milk production provide an excess supply.[1]
