A coop is a small structure where poultry, such as chicken, are kept safe and secure.
Bill Mollison suggested a coop should be placed between a house and a garden. This allows for manure to be brought when passing the coop on the way to the garden, and garden waste can be brought to the coop on the way back to the house.[1]
