A clerestory window is a window placed above eye level. They are used to bring in sunlight and fresh air into a room while maintaining privacy.

A clerestory window is a window placed above eye level. They are used to bring in sunlight and fresh air into a room while maintaining privacy. They serve a similar purpose as transom windows which are placed over doors. Interior clerestory windows can be incorporated into a passive solar house design.
