Wood chips are branches of trees, including needles or leaves that have been reduced in a mechanical chipper or tub grinder. Wood chips are a distinct category, and differ from bark, wood shavings, and sawdust.
They are used in the Back to Eden gardening method to form a thick layer of mulch to cover and protect the soil and as a fuel source in a wood chip boiler.
