Weathering

Weathering is the physical disintegration and corrosion of rocks, soil, and minerals through contact with the atmosphere, water, and organisms. Weathering occurs in with little or no movement of the objects and should not be confused with erosion which involves the movement of rocks and minerals by agents such as water, ice, snow, wind, waves and gravity.
