Turf block is a system of interlocking concrete or plastic cells filled with soil and planted with turf grass or a low-maintenance groundcover. Precipitating water is able to pass through the turf block and into a base of crushed aggregate under the cells where it can infiltrate into the subgrade. It is best suited for low traffic or infrequent parking areas such as patios, walkways, terraces, residential driveways, overflow parking, emergency access roads, and street shoulders. It is available in a variety of colors, shapes, sizes, and textures.[1]

Turf blocks reduce stormwater runoff, filters pollution, recharge groundwater, and controls erosion.[1]
