Types
Uniform Partial Shade
Uniform partial shade is half-sunny or dappled-shade conditions created from complete coverage by a light-permeable material, such as a pergola or a canopy of thin-crowned trees.
Fractured Partial Shade
Fractured partial shade is shade periodically cast throughout the day by various objects, but interspersed with sunny periods.
High Shade
High shade is the shade produced by a high canopy, which usually allows some light to enter from the sides and causes light levels to be even across the space due to scattering.
Part-Day Shade
Part-day shade is shade that occurs only in part of the day, while the rest of the day is sunny.
Uniform Deep Shade
Uniform deep shade is a dark condition created by complete coverage of a dense canopy.
