Fly ash

Fly ash is a byproduct from burning coal. During combustion, minerals in the coal fuse and float out of the combustion chamber with the exhaust gases. As it rises, it cools and solidifies into particles that appears similar to portland cement. It is collected from the exhaust gases by preciptators or bag filters.
