Drip irrigation is an irrigation method that applies small amounts of water directly to the crop root zone using pipes. The method reduces waste from runoff, evaporation, and drift. A water soluble fertilizer can be integrated into the system as well as electric timers to provide water when needed. The two main types of drip irrigation systems are surface and subsurface drip irrigation.

The water pressure in the pipes is approximately 25-30 PSI.[1][2]
